Science at Woodville High School

Foundation

Old WHS Logo
Woodville High School Foundation was established by a group of past scholars in 1990 when the school celebrated 75 years of education for its local community. The Foundation raises money for building projects, manages and provides scholarships for students. It is able to accept tax-deductible donations into its registered building fund.

A major focus of its work since 2005 has been the development of an historical walkway at the front of the old building on Leslie Street West. Past scholars and teachers and their families can purchase a paver to commemorate their time at Woodville High School.

The Foundation is currently restoring and relocating the historic gateway which was originally installed in 1965 for the school’s 50th anniversary. This will be the Foundation’s gift to the school when it celebrates one hundred years in 2015. The gates will be located on the lawn at the front of the current school on Actil Avenue.

The following scholarships are awarded annually at Speech Night in the Woodville Town Hall:

  • The Margaret Grant Home Economics scholarship
  • The David and Margaret Christison scholarship available for Year 10 students for the pursuit of excellence
  • Robert G Edmonds scholarship for a student recently arrived in Australia.
